Installation and Field Service Specialist

Location: Boca Raton, FL

Position Summary

As a Technology Installation and Field Service Specialist you will provide on-site installations and technical support for ETA’s transit technology and equipment. You will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving technical problems with the onboard computer’s hardware, wiring, electrical systems, audio components, and software. This includes performing regular maintenance and software updates to ensure the system’s reliability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs on-site installations and technical support at customer facilities representing ETA with professionalism and courtesy
  • Installs onboard computers and peripherals such as passenger counting sensors, digital signs, and audio systems on transit buses
  • Implements effective solutions to address complex technical issues, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to the customer’s operation
  • Delivers high-quality repairs and maintenance that exceed customer expectations
  • Demonstrates leadership and champions continuous improvement of the field support team
  • Liaises between the customer, installation team, and internal project management team
  • Coordinates with shipping department to reduce incomplete shipments and late shipments

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is an energetic and self-motivated individual looking to advance their skill sets in fun and challenging environments. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and ability required.

  • 5+ years of experience with electronics and computer systems
  • 3+ years of experience in automotive installations
  • Hands on experience installing DC devices and audio-video equipment. Fundamental understanding of electrical systems (comfortable using DC troubleshooting devices and power supplies) and familiarity with wiring vehicle electronics
  • Demonstrates advanced troubleshooting techniques and problem-solving abilities
  • Maintains a clean driving record to ensure insurability
  • Provides excellent customer service, ensuring user satisfaction and resolving issues promptly
  • Possesses a strong understanding of hardware components, operating systems, networking protocols, and software applications
  • PC skills (experience using MS Windows, MS Office applications, and basic networking concepts)
  • Fast learner and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be extremely detail-oriented
  • Ability to travel up to 75% in the USA
