ETA Transit Systems has entered a partnership with Transdev to deploy intelligent transit technology across Texas State University’s campus transit service, equipping the university’s 49-bus fleet with a connected operations and rider-information platform.

Under the agreement, ETA will equip Texas State University’s (TXST) 49-bus fleet with CAD/AVL systems, rider information solutions, onboard announcements, and passenger counting features. The deployment is scheduled to launch in August 2026, ahead of the fall semester.

The implementation gives TXST enhanced operational visibility and an improved experience for riders through real-time vehicle tracking and automated stop announcements that deliver clearer, more reliable transit information across campus.

“Universities move a lot of people on tight schedules, and students expect real-time information. We’re focused on giving TXST and Transdev that visibility while working with the equipment they already have.”

John Maglio, Chief Executive Officer, ETA Transit Systems

As part of the rollout, ETA will integrate its Tally surveying software to validate passenger counting data. The company emphasizes working with existing onboard equipment before recommending new hardware, prioritizing integration with current passenger counting investments while maintaining reporting accuracy and data integrity.
