Valley Regional Transit (VRT), serving the Boise area with 22 fixed routes, two on-demand areas, and specialized services for older adults and individuals with disabilities, has successfully transformed its operations through a strategic partnership with ETA. The transit system, which serves over a million riders annually, has embraced technology to improve both customer experience and operational efficiency.
Before partnering with ETA, VRT faced challenges with a previous service provider that was still in its learning phase, making it difficult to maintain and upgrade the system effectively. In search of a more focused and capable solution, VRT turned to ETA, whose platform was designed to meet the specific needs of the transit system.

The implementation of ETA’s solutions brought immediate benefits, including the introduction of onboard Wi-Fi, which has been a significant advantage for riders who now enjoy uninterrupted connectivity during their commutes. Additionally, the ETA SPOT app has become a popular tool among passengers, allowing them to plan their trips, access real-time bus information, and even make mobile payments with ease.
ETA has skillfully overseen the project's execution, and we eagerly anticipate extending this enhanced capability throughout our entire fleet.

VRT also launched an infotainment portal through ETA, enabling dynamic, customizable messaging that enhances communication with riders. This new feature has replaced traditional onboard posters, offering a more engaging and easily updated method of keeping passengers informed.
Through its collaboration with ETA, Valley Regional Transit has positioned itself as a forward-thinking transit agency, dedicated to providing reliable, efficient, and user-friendly services to the Boise community.
