Boca Raton, FL, October 19, 2026. Brownsville Metro, the City of Brownsville’s public transportation system, has selected ETA to upgrade technology across 22 buses. The project includes TransitOps™ for computer-aided dispatch and automatic vehicle location (CAD/AVL), automatic passenger counters, and Tally for trip surveying and reporting support.

TransitOps™ will give dispatchers access to vehicle locations, schedule adherence information, and historical service data to monitor daily operations and evaluate performance. Automatic passenger counters will record boardings and alightings, helping staff understand ridership by route, trip, and stop and make informed service decisions.

Tally will give surveyors a digital tool for recording onboard passenger counts, which can be compared with automatic passenger counter data to evaluate counting accuracy and support certification. It also helps staff organize survey data and prepare information for National Transit Database (NTD) reporting.

“Public transit agencies need technology that helps them manage service today and make informed decisions for tomorrow,” said John Maglio, CEO of ETA. “We’re excited to partner with Brownsville Metro to connect fleet operations and passenger data, giving their team a stronger foundation for serving the community.”
