Demand responsive transit

A type of transit service where passengers request rides by contacting the operator, who dispatches a vehicle to pick them up and transport them to their destinations. This service generally does not adhere to fixed routes or schedules, except for temporary needs. Vehicles may pick up several passengers at different locations and adjust their routes during a trip to include additional pickups. This service is also known as dial-a-ride.
