Boca Raton, FL – November 1, 2023 — ETA Transit Systems, a leading provider of advanced transit technology solutions, is thrilled to announce that it has been awarded a CAD/AVL project with the AppalCART, a transit system servicing the Appalachian State University and the town of Boone, North Carolina.
AppalCART issued an RFP earlier this year for a Real-time Passenger Information System to replace its legacy bus tracking system. The goals of the RFP centered on providing Appalachian State University students, Watauga County, Town of Boone, NC residents, and visitors modern, cloud-based software that includes web and mobile application-based passenger information and options for dynamic message signs at selected stops.
The agency also required an accurate automatic passenger counting (APC) system.
“There is no shortage of CAD/AVL vendors in North America, so we are always appreciative of the trust that agencies place in ETA when selecting us in the competitive RFP process. Delivering high quality systems on tight schedules is a commitment that we take very seriously, and I am thrilled at the success of our collaboration with AppalCART”, said John Maglio, President of ETA Transit Systems.
“It was time to upgrade our old system with a more modern and feature-rich platform to service our staff and riders. We received several proposals from qualified vendors, but selected ETA based on their experience delivering systems just like ours.” Said, AppalCART Director, Craig Hughes. “ETA has been great to work with – the project management team and support staff have been fantastic. I would enthusiastically give them a strong recommendation”.
