TARTA, serving Lucas County with approximately 1.5 million annual riders and a fleet of 70 fixed-line buses, has significantly upgraded its transit operations through a partnership with ETA.
Lucas Beam, IT Director at TARTA, joined the organization as they were transitioning from an outdated vendor system that lacked the efficiency and integration they needed. After reviewing proposals from around 10 different organizations, TARTA chose ETA, opting to implement nearly every solution offered.
A key requirement for TARTA was the integration of their new Lucas County Motorola radio system with ETA’s platform. This integration was crucial to manage communication effectively, particularly in emergency situations where sensitive information needed to be relayed directly to individual drivers without alarming other operators or passengers. ETA’s solution allowed TARTA to achieve this.
2022
The comprehensive system provided by ETA includes features such as real-time bus tracking, passenger count monitoring, and route management, all integrated seamlessly to improve overall efficiency. Operators no longer need to log into multiple systems; ETA’s platform centralizes all essential functions, simplifying the workflow and improving service delivery.
TARTA has found ETA to be a responsive and supportive partner, dedicated to ensuring their success. The integration points provided by ETA have allowed TARTA to connect various products and applications, enhancing the overall functionality of their transit operations.
I am super happy so far as we have accomplished something that we were told was not possible. ETA has been very flexible during this entire process and worked closely with us to make sure our needs have been taken care of.
