Enterprise Detroit operates a network of airport shuttle vehicles serving Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, connecting passengers between terminals and rental car facilities. With a service model that requires both circulator-style operation and strategic stationing of vehicles across multiple locations – including each terminal and the rental car center – coordinating fleet movements with precision is essential to delivering a seamless passenger experience.

Through the SPOT® platform, Enterprise Detroit has significantly improved its ability to communicate real-time arrival and departure information to customers. The deployment includes:

A live fleet mapping module on the MDT (Mobile Data Terminal), giving drivers a real-time view of all vehicles along their routes. This is particularly valuable when vehicles are staged at fixed locations — drivers at the terminal can see exactly when the shuttle is departing the rental car center and time their own departure accordingly, keeping the service flowing smoothly without unnecessary gaps or overlap.

Real-Time Fleet and Headway Monitoring that gives supervisors a live view of vehicle positions and spacing, enabling them to monitor driver performance, reinforce best practices, and make smarter scheduling decisions based on both real-time conditions and historical patterns.

Back-office software with modules for dispatching, reporting, live dashboards, and operational performance monitoring — giving operations teams a centralized view of the fleet and the data they need to make informed decisions in real time.
