QLine Completes Implementation of ETA Transit Systems Technology to Enhance Operations and Rider Experience

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Boca Raton, Florida September 17, 2025

QLine has completed the implementation of ETA Transit Systems’ Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL), Automatic Voice Announcements (AVA), and Automatic Passenger Counting (APC) technologies across its fleet of six modern streetcars serving the Woodward Corridor in Downtown Detroit.

The newly implemented system improves real-time vehicle tracking, improves rider communications, and delivers more accurate operational and ridership reporting for QLine’s operations and planning teams. This implementation represents an important step forward in supporting reliable service, increasing visibility for riders, and streamlining day-to-day operations for dispatch staff.

As part of ETA Transit’s standard post-implementation process, QLine participated in a customer implementation survey to evaluate onboarding, training, and overall implementation performance. Feedback from the QLine team highlighted improved reporting accuracy, a more reliable system, and a user-friendly experience for dispatchers. One respondent described the implementation process as “fast and efficient,” while others noted ETA’s ongoing support in helping the team work through non-ETA-related system issues following launch.
