SPOT™ CAD/AVL System Deployed at Greenville Area Transit (GREAT)

Boca Raton, Florida May 1, 2025 – ETA Transit Systems, a prominent provider of cutting-edge transit technology solutions, is pleased to announce the successful deployment of a CAD/AVL project in collaboration with Greenville Area Transit (GREAT). The project was kicked off in October 2024 and was installed within 4 months.

The purpose of this project is to is to enhance public transit operations in the greater Greenville area by implementing advanced technology solutions, including automatic vehicle location (AVL), automatic passenger counters (APC), automated voice annunciation (AVA), and electronic fare collection. These enhancements will provide real-time tracking, streamlined fare payments, and improved accessibility, ensuring a more convenient and reliable transit experience for passengers. The system includes: ETA Transit’s flagship product, system with:

On-board systems: A rugged onboard computer that creates efficiencies for bus operators through single sign-on – a feature that eliminates the need for the operator to log into multiple systems. This project also includes vehicle logic units (VLU), mobile data terminals (MDT), head sign integration, fare integration via Masabi, and GTFS-RT.

Back-office software: Web-based software with modules for planning, detour management, dispatching, reporting, and much more. GREAT will enjoy a simplified NTD reporting experience while managing headways and on-time performance.

Real-time passenger information systems: Tools delivered through web, mobile, and digital signage that allows passengers to plan trips, monitor bus arrival times, consume real-time alerts.
