Chris Harris, Director of Transportation Services for Auburn University, manages a fleet of 70 buses, with 56 in regular service during the fall and spring semesters and 62 on game days. This extensive operation supports a significant number of off-campus students by providing transportation from apartment complexes to campus.
A few years ago, while attending an APTA conference, Harris connected with ETA Transit, which provided a solution that met all his requirements. The platform enables accurate passenger counts and customizable features, such as automated bus stop announcements and safety messages. This system has improved reporting, accountability, and overall service quality at Auburn University.
ETA Transit’s user-friendly platform has enhanced communication between the dispatch office and drivers, providing real-time updates and efficient route management. Additionally, the SPOT app offers advanced functionalities, helping students easily navigate campus transportation. This partnership has significantly improved the university’s transportation system, making it more efficient and user-friendly.
The SPOT app has lot of functionalities to it that are pretty cool. There’s been a lot more interest in what this app can do compared to our previous provider's.
